Oil and Gas Stormwater Permit Support

Services Provided

  • Completed the renewal of permit coverage for 200+ oil and gas production facilities under the Montana General Permit MTR100000, Storm Water Discharges Associated with Construction Activity.
  • Determined applicability of permit coverage to oil and gas production facilities based on status of reclamation.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) signed into authorization the new and revised General Permit for Storm Water Discharges Associated with Construction Activity, MTR100000, on January 1, 2013. Prior to the effective date of the permit, our client had to file a new Notice of Intent (NOI) to provide coverage under the revised permit for applicable oil and gas production facilities. To determine applicability, Aquionix inspected each facility to determine the percent reclaimed from the construction activities, eliminating those facilities that met the reclamation requirements. Once the facility list had been verified, Aquionix completed the NOI paperwork and submitted the application for permit renewal to the MDEQ which was subsequently approved.  port
